Privacy law

Government agencies are required to comply with the Information Protection Principles in the Privacy and Personal Information Protection Act 1998 (PPIP Act). These regulate the collection, storage, use and disclosure of personal information held by government agencies.

If you believe a breach of your privacy has occurred, you can make a privacy complaint to us or the NSW Office of the Privacy Commission.
